Boston Metro Organizations
St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church Boston hosts the summer program in Boston Bishop’s Summer Academic and Fun Enrichment, a day camp for city youth. The program aims to help break the cycle of violence in the city by providing a safe a healthy summer for several hundred children and teens who work there, and to broaden horizons through exposure to arts, reading, technology, athletics and educational field trips. The cost is under $100 per child, for the entire 6-week program. St. Paul’s sponsors a week of food and a field trip. Volunteers shop, prepare, and serve food each day, as well as organize and chaperone a field trip for Friday of our sponsored week.
How to get involved with B-SAFE?
Love to shop? Chop? Cook? Be with great kids? Make a difference? B-SAFE is for you!
We will announce our summer sponsor week (a week in July or early August) by late March. The week or so before our sponsor week, we will be looking for shoppers. For the Monday through Thursday of our sponsor week we will be looking for volunteers to prep food in the morning, go into Boston to serve food and clean up.
