Blessing of the Animals

Sunday, October 2, 2022, 11:00 AM
Each year we celebrate the Feast of St. Francis (October 4) with a special celebration of the beloved pets in our lives on the Sunday closest to the feast!
St. Francis is known for his connection to animals and the environment and our worship inspired by this Feast makes room to celebrate this!
You are welcome to bring any church-loving (and ideally low allergen) animals with you to join you for the entire 10 a.m. worship service on Sunday, October 2nd but the blessing itself will take place in the church yard following the church service (starting shortly after 11 a.m.) - so if you want to come to church (and we have an amazing guest preacher this day so you don't want to miss this service!!) and then zip home to get your beloved pet for a blessing, you will have plenty of time. We also encourage you to bring photographs of your pets who need to remain at home or any beloved deceased pets for a special prayer. Plush "stuffies" and other beloved toy pets are also welcome for a blessing!
