Way of the Cross through Nature
Friday, April 7, 2023, 2:00 PM
Meet at Pickerel Pond Trails, Natick (at the Huron Drive entrance, see below for more information)
All-ages are invited to join as we meander through local wetlands trails and along the way look for spaces in Nature that will help us to enter into a modified "Way of the Cross" reflection on Jesus' final hours and death.
We hope you’ll consider joining us during this Holy Time of "pause" before we enter into the joy and mystery of our Easter faith!
More details:
Where: please meet at the Huron Drive entrance to the Pickerel Pond Trails (click for map). Use the address "6 Huron Drive in Natick" if you are plugging this into GPS or Maps app.
**It will look like an office park, but the entrance to the trail is located beyond the parking lot (you cannot park IN the parking lots of the businesses nearby - 6 & 10 Huron Drive - but you can park on the street or if you drive back behind the parking lot to the trail entrance there are 1-2 spots - this involves driving on a dirt path and is best for larger vehicles/truck/SUV).
Wear: Sturdy (ideally waterproof) shoes for a relatively easy hike (the area is marshy and while we don't plan to trek through waterlogged areas, just in case it is a good idea to wear shoes you don't mind getting muddy/dirty). Dress for the weather, we will plan to do this program rain or shine so be prepared!
Time Frame: We anticipate this experience taking about 75 minutes – plan to be wrapped up by about 3:15 p.m.
Intergenerational: Some of our teens experienced a similar hike last year and therefore will be helping to lead the reflections and prayers! All-ages are welcome and this will be a great experience for families to do together. Younger children should be able to walk (or be easily carried by caretakers). The total distance we will be walking/hiking will be approximately 1. – 1.5 miles and while there may be some slight uphill and downhill, it is not a strenuous hike and should be accessible for many!
Please let Katy Denning know if you have any questions!
