Advent 2022
In our Episcopal tradition, we begin our Church Year with the season of Advent.
Advent at St. Paul's begins the fourth Sunday before Christmas (In 2022, this is November 27) and will continue until the day before Chrstimas.
The word "advent" is from the Latin for "coming" and this season offers us an opportunity to reflect on hope and expectation as we mark a time of preparation for the coming celebration of the Incarnation at Christmas.
During this season, we are continuing our weekly Sunday offering of the intergenerational program Finding the In(n) and together with all ages of our community we will be preparing for a special Christmas Eve Nativity pageant.
In addition, if you follow our social media pages (Instagram and Facebook), you'll find daily reflections on the Advent theme of Shadow and Light - if you'd like print resources - a reflection booklet or an Advent calendar - please check out this page.
We will also offer a Blue Christmas service of healing for those for whom this season can be difficult.
And, we continue our nightly online Compline prayer connections - Advent is a great season to enter into a practice of regular prayer each evening! Light a candle, pour a cup of tea and join us for 8 p.m. online Compline Prayer!
We invite you to enter into the mystery and the hope of this season as we journey towards our celebration of the coming of Christ into our world.
